You still have time to leave. We left after trying for decades. You cannot save Chicago. But you can still save yourself. Life is too short to tolerate the torture that is current life in Chicago.

Yes, thanks, we have plans to move.

Many thanks for your post, very enlightening for me in the UK, but very sad. And I hate to see the loss of historic buildings which also often entails the loss of community. Not all historic buildings are necessarily good of course, but many are fine examples and should not be lost.

As a retired building surveyor I have seen both sides as it were. I dislike the square/rectangular glass boxes that people put up as houses.

As regards Chicago you have Pritzker as governor of Illinois so that is part of the problem.

I don't know if this might lighten the mood but I did this for the USA.

Interesting , I had no idea JP has that many shekels. Why would he want preside over such a worthless sad state?

All of them will be eliminated. The beast will not allow anyone that knows him and his past to linger. I'm guessing we will see it very soon too!

I remember the opening credits for the Bob Newhart show. Chicago. Made me want to visit.

As to informed consent-it was never required

Ah, yes. The credits showed an apartment building in Wilmette. True, never required. And wonder how many children, elderly people, and nursing home residents were jabbed, whether they wanted it or not.

Expand full comment

I was amazed by the river flowing through the city. The thought of walking along the river any time you want.

I used to volunteer at the local nursing home, and witnessed a resident being jabbed in his wheelchair while calling bingo. Two nurses walked up, did the deed, and walked away. One came back a little later to check on him. When they started requiring jabs or tests for everyone who entered, I stopped going. Regretfully

Homeless camps growing in Chicago and here in Scarborough Ontario CHINADA or Toronto east.

We've lived here for 35 years and have never seen this level of Homeless folks wondering around the growing camps in our neighborhoods.

I'm on my bicycle almost daily trying to WAKE folks up with my Druthers paper when the weather allows.

To have Homeless camps growing in CHINADA tells you the desperation of folks.

Living outside in CHINADA in the winter is near impossible to survive.

Same with Chicago I would think.

Very cold.

The answer our gub'ments have is to INCREASE immigration.

So horrifying. As I was reading this I could have been reading about Seattle, the city I fled from. It's the exact same process. I recall my mounting horror in the 80s as each American city became infused with the same corporate stores and began the process of losing local color. Forty years on, they are each undergoing a different, globalization process which literally destroys what had managed to remain. We think of these as our cities and yet clearly, they are not. They belong to the greedy abhorrent cons who do the planning and offer their services to their corrupt Jabba the Hut overlords.

Expand full comment

True. And it happens almost imperceptibly, slow step by step, little by little.

Expand full comment

Yes, but if you are alert to it, you see it all. I walked to my job in Seattle for 13 years, a mile and a half that included crossing a bridge. Bridges always seem to contain liminality, so I saw lots of changes there--upticks in homeless, upticks in needles dropped. I love American cities--I've lived in Boston, New York and Seattle and those three have been ruined. I've spent a lot of time in San Francisco and Portland too, and they are ruined. I've moved out into the country, which I never thought I'd do. But everything that made our cities vibrant, unique, interesting has been destroyed and I guess only the kids don't notice and that seems like a neat trick to me--that's how they get away with it. Only the aging notice the absence.

I was young when I noticed Walmart and all the big box stores. Took me a little longer to notice the other destructive force of Amazon.

Yeah. I had a friend who was dating a guy who worked in the new dome. Whatever they call it. So he gave us a tour. They had imported delicate plants from all over the world and 24/7 did maintenance on them (this is their idea of green). Marvelous plants and I am a gardener which is why my friend wanted me to see them. But--they had literally a sort of hanging gardens of Babylon theme and a huge concrete ziggurat featured prominently behind. Eerie. Emblematic of their influence, I felt.

As long as MASS-MURDER & GENOCIDE are allowed to be openly cherished, planned & executed in America - the slowly awakening rest of planet earth will start to realize, that instead of condemning the "HOLOCAUST" from the last century - we should finally focus on real NON-identified PSYCHOPATHS like Bill Gates, who openly promotes the greatest HOLOCAUST in known history in CAMOUFLAGE, by promoting MASS STERILIZATION, MASS ABORTION & MASS VACCINATION with SLOW KILL TOXINS to reach the psychotic Gates Goal of DEPOPULATING this planet down to a MINI-population of 500 Million, as has been the American public propaganda, being advertised for 42 years between 1980 & 2022 on the "Georgia Guide Stones".

We saw that scene of the young “family” on the corner begging in June/July. It only lasted a month or so and then they disappeared. I wonder where they all went?

Since it's all about money, the more residents you can pack in per acre, the more money you can make. Where I live every single structure going up is multi-unit high rise apartments. And they all look exactly the same, which is cheap and ugly. In 20 years they'll start to look run-down. And yes, the sound of sirens is constant now. The people I know personally who partook of the magic medicine are not doing well. The local news reports none of it. I have seen two people drop in public, one at a bus stop and one in a downtown plaza. No mention of either in the news. In the downtown plaza I was walking up just as the ambulance was pulling up. I said to my friend, loud enough for the crowd to hear me, "He was probably vaccinated". Not one person in the crowd challenged my statement. They know, they just can't admit it to themselves.

Yikes, you saw people dropping dead! Clearly the same trend in all cities. On our block I have no doubt at least two houses will be gone within the next 2 years, replaced by condos.

Our cities (and yes, even suburbs soon), will have the look of Soviet era housing projects. Gray, ugly, uniform, lifeless, hopeless.

Already doing it to the cars, have you noticed all the new cars are this utilitarian gray. So ugly, apologies if you have one, but those cars struck me as well.

In this case I think they may be more like "the Village" in the TV series, "The Prisoner." There will be sidewalk cafés, restaurants, etc fr those who can afford them.

OMG, I was in an upscale one of those a few weeks ago!

A work colleague invited me to a restaurant there. Nice place, okay food. But who the hell would live around here, I wondered.

Afterwards, outside, while he took a call, I hung back and watched people walking their dogs, jogging, running errands to and from the ‘center,’ being dropped off by their Uber drivers, etc., unconscious, just like bingo The Prisoner, as if this sterile ‘community’ was a normal place to ‘live.’

Yes, it was The Prisoner . . . meets The Twilight Zone meets The Black Mirror. Truly horrifying and I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

and people pay double and triple a house mortgage to live in those places. Where I live, they revalized downtown and the apartments go for over $4000 a month, no parking, no grocery stores, no gas staions, just restaurants, but the young people are paying that much to live there. I guess I am getting old.

This article was astounding!!! It was informative on steroids! I don’t think a daily diet would be healthy (for me). It brings truth dissemination INTO the person in a constant connected very dense articulated methodology. It reminds me of Anthony Scalia ability, it is courageous in your face, you have to love it.

As for cities, I'd love to get rid of any blue city that wasn't making it, mostly because the politicians aren't supporting the people, cleaning up the trash and the unsafe areas, keeping many police in the bad areas, and helping them deal by teaching them to work better with residents, whomever they are.

Much of the issue with MRI machines, besides the claustrophobia, is the contrast solution called gadolinium, and there are others that totally messed up beautiful Gina Norris, actor Chuck Norris's wife. As usual, they say they are safe but not always.

I left Chicago (and the US) twelve years ago for Switzerland. Even back then there were clear signs that the decay was accelerating. It is simply heartbreaking to see once lovely Lincoln Park taken over by tents, and even worse, those beautiful classic homes being razed to the ground, replaced by modern monstrosities. What a shame.

I left 20 years ago. They were replacing those buildings back then, too.

I notice where I live (Delta BC, Canada) that the ambulance and Fire Department rescue vehicles always seem to rush optimistically to the rescue with sirens blaring and emergency lights, but shortly after leave silently in no hurry, as their customer has already passed away.
